Getting SEO Right from Day One

If you’re looking to flourish in a competitive market and make your business successful online, then you had better make it a priority to optimize your website from the very first day!

Web optimization ensures that your web-page ranks at the top of popular search engine results thus allowing your business to become more visible online. Those seeking your products or services can then easily find you. This in turn makes the dream to grow your profits on a daily basis as sales increase a reality!

With over 2 billion websites on the internet today, the last thing you want is potential clients stumbling on your competition before they find you. This could only spell failure for your business. To prevent this, save yourself some time and engage in search engine website optimization from the very first day. It also makes it easier for potential clients to find your web-pages right from the start.

So how exactly do you go about optimizing your website? It’s dead simple! I will help you understand precisely what needs to be done to get the most out of search engine searches.

First, start your SEO campaign by designing a website with your ideal clients in mind. This includes making sure that your website is easy to use and provides good content from the very first day. Nothing more nothing less.

Secondly, design you site to rank high in major search engine results by providing content that is keyword rich. Any article you publish must have organic keywords properly placed in the following key areas…

  • Domain Name
  • File and Directory Name
  • Title Tag
  • Heading Tag
  • Meta Keywords
  • Meta Descriptions
  • Hyperlinked Text
  • Alt Attribute

These key areas are considered important by all search engines and making them keyword rich guarantees a higher rank for your website in search engine results.

However, avoid the use of keywords that do not fit into your content- All keywords must be relevant to your message. Furthermore, avoid overusing keywords to a point where they affect your readers’ ability to connect with your content. After all, you are writing for your readers not search engines. Make sure that your content is easy to read.

Don’t forget to research your keywords before making the decision to use them in your articles. Take your time to look for the best keywords that will add the most value to your SEO campaign as opposed to the first keywords that come to mind. A number of free keyword tools are available online to help you do this. A perfect example is the Google Ad words keyword tool.

Just as important, remember to use both broad keywords such as categories as well as specific keywords to target your readers. This approach allows your website to become more visible to a larger target audience online.

Simply incorporating well researched keywords into your website and implementing intelligent designs from the very first day guarantees more value for your SEO campaign compared to performing SEO after launching your site, which requires more time and work.

Great rundown of what does go into a blog besides great content (which the items mentioned above are a part of the content). We know that blogs are ranking higher than static websites when the steps above are taken.

As a side note, it will be interesting to see what happens with the bing/yahoo integration as folks who are ranking on yahoo apparently lose that ranking. Will this create a frenzy to consider ranking on bing or will it just have people abandon it all together and stick with google? Thoughts?

Great overview of the key basics to on page optimization. Its the small things that make such a big difference that most people overlook. Its extremely helpful to include the full hyperlink Anchor Text rather than pagename so that spiders index additional links.

That goes a long way when you do the math.
